Setinggi-tinggi jutaan TAHNIAH kepada bangsa pascasiswazah yang berjaya menyempurnakan pengajian Master atau PhD. Bagi mereka yang telah menamatkan pengajian PhD kini berjaya menerima gelaran Doktor Falsafah.
Alhamdulillah, seorang lagi ahli platinum Dr Roket telah berjaya melalui pengalaman ‘the real Vivalicious’ di bilik Viva pada 23 Julai 2025 iaitu Dr. Hanis Hidayu Kasim.
Jutaan tahniah diucapkan kepada Dr. Hanis Hidayu Kasim atas kejayaan beliau membentangkan tesis di bilik Viva. Syukur, beliau telah LULUS Viva dengan jayanya.
Berikut adalah ringkasan latar belakang kajian beliau yang dikongsi untuk rujukan umum. Semoga perkongsian ini memberikan manfaat kepada ummah, khususnya kepada pelajar yang akan atau sedang menempuh perjalanan pengajian mereka.

TAJUK KAJIAN:
Study of Fat Metabolism and the Interplay with Insulin in Preterm Infants in the First Year of Life.
SEDIKIT LATAR BELAKANG KAJIAN DAN HASIL KAJIAN:
Preterm infants (PIs) face a higher risk of chronic morbidity in adulthood, including cardiovascular diseases, and Diabetes Mellitus type 1 and type 2. The underlying causal mechanisms, whether driven by pre- or postnatal factors, remain obscure. Although this risk is well-known, its mechanism and tools for early detection, particularly for identifying metabolic alterations and insulin resistance, remain sparse. This research specifically addresses these gaps by determining the impact of prematurity on lipid metabolism and evaluating its interplay with insulin sensitivity during the first year of life.
CADANGAN KEPADA PENGKAJI SETERUSNYA:
Based on the results in this thesis, the main question is whether these lipid characteristics and their synergic activity with IS within the first year of life and poor glycaemic control at TCA contribute to poor health outcomes in adulthood. Future research can focus on several directions: (i) understanding of the physiological changes in PIs and (ii) the outcomes of these changes. Not only the changes in metabolic activity but also their outcomes are important information that is essential to improving our understanding of metabolic maturation in PIs for targeted intervention.
