Alhamdulillah, seorang lagi ahli platinum Dr Roket telah berjaya menamatkan pengajian Master iaitu Cik Puan Irma Liyana.

TAJUK KAJIAN:
Seven-Year Cohort Study Of High Sensitivity C-Reactive Protein, Non-High Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol, And Reynolds Risk Score Among Young Adults With Prehypertension.
SEDIKIT LATAR BELAKANG KAJIAN DAN HASIL KAJIAN:
Prehypertension is recognised as an early stage of hypertension that increases the risk of cardiovascular disease among young adults. This seven-year cohort study found that nearly half of prehypertensive individuals progressed to hypertension, while CVD incidence occurred only in the hypertensive group. The Reynolds Risk Score rose across all groups, particularly among normotensive and prehypertensive individuals, indicating hidden risk accumulation. Non-HDL cholesterol emerged as the most consistent biomarker for predicting long-term cardiovascular risk.
CADANGAN KEPADA PENGKAJI SETERUSNYA:
Future research should move beyond biomarker-based risk prediction by integrating advanced imaging modalities such as coronary artery calcium (CAC) scoring or carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT). These tools provide direct assessment of subclinical atherosclerosis and may refine risk stratification in asymptomatic young adults. Longitudinal studies should also explore whether imaging-guided interventions can alter disease progression. Importantly, research must address cost-effectiveness, feasibility in low-resource settings, and population-specific thresholds to ensure applicability within Southeast Asia’s unique epidemiological landscape.
